Highlights of the FDA

Posted by Bernadette at Monday, October 31, 2011

So just to highlight some of the places I was able to visit through the FDA rotation, the left is USP's first and oldest collection of monographs

while the right shows some of the contraband shown at the Bureau of Prisons confiscated from prisoners.

Do the paintings look familiar? Maybe along the
College's wall? The drawings both on COP's hallways and at APhA headquarters highlight the significant events on pharmacy ... and the the rooftop of FDA headquarters has an amazing view!

Overall, the FDA rotation is a great place for a student to learn about the opportunities pharmacists have in government positions, not exclusively the FDA. I was able to speak with pharmacists at USP, APhA, DoD (Department of Defense), Bureau of Prisons, and IHS (Indian Health Service). So if you have any interest in these types of positions, the FDA rotation is definitely one you want to try out!
